ANOTHER BLOG ABOUT WHISKY

No. It is not about tasting whisky and pairing it with music, chocolate, fine dining or cigars. It is about (mostly Scotch malt) whisky, its manufarcture, history and the little bits of science involved in the magic of making the best spirit in the world.

Since I am not a chemist, historian nor a distiller, I am bound to get some things just plain wrong. Please correct me where appropriate and share that anoraky stuff about whisky with me in the comments section.

I always try to add the most interesting references used in each blog to allow you to check the facts and dig deeper where necessary. (sorry in advance for the poor quality of citing etc, I am not a real scientist)

Sláinte!

PS. Yes, I do drink whisky. Follow twitter.com/tmu76 for quick and random tasting notes.

  2. It's always hard for me to wait for your next post. Your blog is just superb! By far the best blog on whisky I know (and I have been visiting a lot of blogs on whisky in the last two years). It's far away from this "copy paste" products you can find everywhere. Very well researched and very well written. You really "check the facts and dig deeper where necessary". Please don't stop. We need people like you urgently. There are so many others writing unnecessary unfounded staff feeling comfortable in narcissism. Thank's a lot.

  3. It took me years to find more information than just the normal "whisky blabla" and tasting notes 8and also some money to get hands on special books), but now we finally have also a blog with really interesting aspects on factors that influence Single Malts. Great job.

  6. Hello,

I am checking your blog every now and than, even there are no new articles added any more...it is still very interesting, and I leave the blog every time a bit smarter.

Do you have any knowledge about ware houses and climate? Maybe you like add an article... wouldn't it be a nice idea?

    Best regards, Sebastian
